BS2 closes in on first steel contract

Siam City Bank, PCL (SCIB) was established in 1941 by government officials and members of royal family with initial registered capital of Baht 1 million. After the merger with Bangkok Metropolitan Bank in April 2002. On April 9, 2010, Financial Institution Development Fund (“FIDF”) had entirely divested SCIB shares to Thanachart Bank (“TBANK”) in a total amount of 1,005.33 million shares or 47.58% of issued and paid-up capital and subsequently acquired other 1,106.35 million shares from tender offer. Hence, TBANK is SCIB’s major shareholder with a stake of 2,111.68 million shares or accounting for 99.95% of total shares. SCIB was de-listed from the Stock Exchange of Thailand on 13 December 2010.

 

 

As at the end of March 2011, we have a registered capital of Baht 21,128 million, Baht 404,182 million in assets, Baht 272,205 million in loans, Baht 270,640 million in deposits, 6,809 employees, and 422 branches nationwide. 


Entire business transfer of Thanachart Bank and Siam City Bank, PCL (SCIB) will be completed after October 1, 2011.
